In the first dual meet of the season, the 2019-2020 Tiger team defeated the Columbia Heights Highlanders 101-68. The Tigers placed 1st in all three relays and all ten individual events, swimming exhibition in the final three events of the meet. The performances were highlighted by a pool record for Colby Kern in the 50 Freestyle (22.47) and a school record in 6 round diving for Luke Hanson (148.60). Other event winner were Nick Black in the 200 Freestyle and 100 Freestyle, Per Anderson in the 200 Individual Medley, Thomas Kenison in the 100 Butterfly, Gentry Nuytten in the 500 Freestyle and 100 Backstroke, and Joe Coyle in 100 Breaststroke. First Place relays were Kaden Georges, Per Anderson, Gentry Nuytten, and Will Merten in the 200 Medley relay, Trent Steuernagel, Joe Coyle, Will Merten and Nick Black in the 200 Freestyle Relay, and Kaden Georges, Gentry Nuytten, Nick Black, and Colby Kern in the 400 Freestyle Relay.
It was a great first meet for a lot of new swimmers and divers as well as a good opportunity to get the feel of competition for the returning athlete.
Next up will be a tough dual with Hutchinson at Delano Thursday 12/19.
