The Delano Girls Swim and Dive Team had a successful Section Finals meet this past Saturday, capturing a 2nd place team finish and advancing several swimmers and a diver on to the State Swim and Dive meet this week. Each of the Tiger girls had an outstanding meet, with fantastic races and time drops across the board.
The Tigers advanced 4 individuals to the state swim and dive meet. Capturing individual sections championships, were Kylie Strobl in the 200 freestyle; and Emma Kern in the 100 Backstroke, and 100 fly. Kern also set the Wilmar pool and Section 3A event records enroute to her titles. Laila Rosenow also turned in a State qualifying swim in the 100 fly, Kylie Strobl in the 100 free, and Avery Lommel will be advancing, and will be the first ever diver to ever represent Delano at the State Meet.
In addition, all 3 of the Tiger relays reached the state qualifying time! Representing the Tigers in the 200 Medley Relay will be Emma Kern, Abby Wadholm, Annabelle Wentzel, Laila Rosenow, the 200 Free Relay will be composed of Sydney York, Laila Rosenow, Josie Strobl, and Kylie Strobl, and the 400 Free relay will be Kylie Strobl, Shelby Benker, Laila Rosenow, and Emma Kern.
The State Swim and Dive Meet will be at the University of Minnesota Aquatic Center. Meet Days and Times listed below. Come out and support the Tiger Ladies.
