It came down to the last play, but Delano Tigers Varsity was on the wrong end of a 3-2 defeat to Willmar on Tuesday. The game was tied at two with Willmar batting in the bottom of the eleventh when Jayden Dierenfeld was struck by a pitch, driving in a run.
The pitching was strong on both sides. Willmar pitchers struck out 15, while Delano Tigers Varsity sat down 14.
Bryan Weidemann earned the win for Willmar. He surrendered zero runs on one hit over three innings, striking out three and walking zero.
Max Otto took the loss for Delano Tigers Varsity. He lasted three and two-thirds innings, allowing two hits and one run while striking out two and walking zero.
Cade Lommel started the game for Delano Tigers Varsity. He surrendered two runs on three hits over seven innings, striking out 12 Drey Dirksen started the game for Willmar. He surrendered two runs on seven hits over eight innings, striking out 12 and walking one
